About Cooking with Siddhi

Cooking with Siddhi is a home for everyday Indian vegetarian cooking: recipes that work, guides that explain the why, and honest advice on the kitchen equipment worth buying.

Meet Siddhi

Hi, I’m Siddhi Panchal, and this is my kitchen. I cook Indian vegetarian food every day for my family in India, and I started Cooking with Siddhi to share the recipes, methods and small tricks that make that daily cooking easier and tastier.

My cooking draws on the many regional kitchens of India, from a simple Gujarati dal and a Punjabi tadka to South Indian tiffin, Maharashtrian snacks and Bengali flavours. I love food that is honest, comforting and doable on a busy weekday, with a few festive treats along the way.

Every recipe is cooked in my kitchen first

Every recipe on this site is cooked in my own kitchen before it goes live. I follow the written steps from start to finish, note what actually happened, and fix anything that was unclear, so what you read is what works at home. You can read more in how we test recipes.

Who this site is for

Home cooks across India: whether you are making your first dal, feeding a busy family on weeknights, planning a festival menu or trying a regional dish you grew up hearing about.

What you will find here

  • Recipes from Gujarati, Punjabi, South Indian, Maharashtrian, Bengali and Rajasthani kitchens, written with Indian measures and honest timings.
  • Cooking guides that explain techniques, substitutions and fixes, like how to make the perfect tadka.
  • Meal plans with recipe ideas and grocery lists, such as our 7-day Indian vegetarian meal plan and Diwali meal plan.
  • Kitchen product guides and comparisons that help you choose appliances and cookware, clearly labelled as hands-on or research-based.

How we work

  • Cooked first: every recipe is cooked in my kitchen before it goes live.
  • Written for Indian kitchens: Indian ingredient names, familiar measures and equipment you already own.
  • Honest recommendations: products are chosen using our review methodology. Some links earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you, which never changes what we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure.
  • Corrections: if something is wrong, we fix it. Our editorial policy explains how.
