Who we are
Cooking with Siddhi (cookingwithsiddhi.com) is a vegetarian Indian recipe and kitchen-guide website run by Siddhi Panchal, India. For anything about your privacy, email cookingwithsiddhi@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
- Comments: if you leave a comment, we store the name, email address and comment you submit, plus your IP address and browser details. We use these to show and moderate comments and to stop spam. Your email address is never published.
- Emails you send us: if you write to us, we keep your message and email address only to reply and follow up.
- Newsletter or sign-up forms: if you subscribe through a form on this site, we store the email address you give us, with your consent, to send you the emails you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Technical data: like any website, our hosting servers record basic technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) in server logs to keep the site secure and working.
We do not currently use analytics or advertising trackers such as Google Analytics or Facebook Pixel. If we add any, we will update this page first.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies needed for it to work, for example to remember your name and email if you choose that option when commenting. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, but some conveniences may not.
Affiliate links and Amazon
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Some links on this site are affiliate links to Amazon.in. Third parties, including Amazon, may provide content and advertising, collect information directly from visitors, and place or recognise cookies on your browser. When you click an affiliate link and visit Amazon, Amazon’s own privacy notice applies. We never see your Amazon account, payment details or what you buy beyond anonymous commission reports.
Third-party services we use
- Hostinger hosts this website and its database, and provides the email tools behind any sign-up forms.
- Google Fonts supplies some of the fonts used on the site. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which can see your IP address.
- Gravatar (by Automattic) may show a profile picture next to comments. A scrambled version of the commenter’s email address is sent to Gravatar to check for one.
We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we share it only with the service providers above, only so they can run the site for us, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Comments and their details: for as long as the comment stays on the site, or until you ask us to remove it.
- Emails you send us: up to 24 months after our last reply, unless we need them longer for a legal reason.
- Newsletter email addresses: until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs: kept by our host for a short period for security, then deleted.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it, withdraw any consent you have given, and nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. To do any of this, or to raise a complaint, email cookingwithsiddhi@gmail.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. We aim to reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, email us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever our practices change and show the date of the latest update at the top.
