Gajar Halwa Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Carrot Grated
  • 1 Cup milk Full fat boiled
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup dry fruits Mix
  • 1/4 Cup Clarified butter Ghee
  • 1/2 Tsp Cardamom Coarsely Crushed

Instructions

  • Heat cooker and add clarified butter.
  • Once the ghee is hot, add mixed dry fruits. Roast for 10-15 seconds.
  • Next, add cardamom powder and grated carrots.
  • On medium flame, mix all ingredients well. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  • Pour 1/3rd cup of water and on full flame stir again.
  • Close the lid of the cooker and cook until you hear two whistles. Turn off the flame and set it
  • aside to cool it down.
  • Remove the lid, turn on the flame and bring the contents of the cooker to a boil.
  • Now add sugar and milk and mix well.
  • Let it boil well and stir continuously to avoid it sticking to the bottom.
  • Once the moisture evaporates and ghee starts to appear on sides, consider it cooked.
  • If there is still moisture left, continue cooking.
  • Take the halwa out in a serving dish and present it piping hot.
