Today’s recipe is the very salubrious Methi Mathri, aka Fenugreek Crackers.
Packed with iron, vitamins and crucial minerals, methi leaves have been known to correct digestive issues and cholesterol levels, diminishing inflammation inside the body and prevents kidney disease.
Methi Mathri is crispy, flaky and light golden delights. You can enjoy the all kinds of weather with some of these yummy crackers made with a mixture of all-purpose flour, spices and of course freshly chopped and roasted fenugreek and then deep fried.

How to make Crispy Methi Mathri
Methi Mathri
Ingredients
- 2 Cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 Cup Cooking Oil
- 1/4 Cup Fenugreek leaves Finely chopped
- 1 tsp Black pepper Crushed
- 1 tsp Carom seeds
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat a pan and add oil.
- Once the oil is hot add freshly chopped fenugreek/methi.
- On a low-medium flame roast methi until it is crispy. Switch off the flame and let it cool down.
- In the next step add all-purpose flour in a mixing bowl, crushed black pepper, crush carom seeds in your palm and add it, salt to taste and mix all dry ingredients together.
- Next, add roasted methi along with the oil into the dry mixture and mix well with hands.
- Now add water accordingly to make a tight dough. Cover it with a lid and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
- After 15 minutes knead it again for a few seconds and prepare chakhla and a rolling pin.
- Now by taking a handful of dough in your palms flatten it and then roll it outwards on chakhla flattening it simultaneously.
- Now using a round cookie cutter cut through the roti and make several of these.
- Prick the round shapes with the help of a fork.
